Progress of our Music Video
Whilst we are currently in the post-production stage of our project, my group and I are effectively working on the Mac.
We began with naming all the clips we uploaded onto the mac so that we could efficiently select a clip to place into the project. We then created a rough imitation of the storyboard. However we were aware that some shots were too long etc so we have added in more shots so that the video remains interesting.
One concept that is quite prevalent in our video is the split screen of several clips of the same shot. We had initially decided only our first shot would split into four, however after getting used to the Final Cut Pro X software, we decided to use this a lot more which makes the overall video more interesting. Additionally we still felt that some shots were too long such as the one in the pub where the artist is at the pool table and the camera pans to the boyfriend at the bar with another girl and some shots in the home scene. Therefore we decided to try some other editing effects and I experimented with the cropping tool and we decided to use this where the frame cuts in on some of the base line beats in the verses.
Therefore, we are making adjustments from our storyboard however these are advantageous to us as they will create an overall better look for the video and make the video more appealing to our audience and even a wider age group.
Our progress is going well and we aim to have our video finished by half term.

Post-production: Editing
We have now begun the post-production aspect of our project. We have uploaded our footage onto the Apple Mac computer and have begun to editing our piece together. As opposed to the imovie software that we used for our AS foundation portfolio, we have decided to use the new editing software released by apple: Final Cut Pro X.
Although unfamiliar software, my group and I are working to become confident in using the software to edit our music video. The layout is fairly similar to imovie however it has more advanced features that we believe will enable us to experiment with more effects for our video.
The new features include faster editing which enables shots to be cut more efficiently and the project is kept on a organised timeline.
Therefore we feel that the new software will be advantageous to our music video in creating the best post-production effects.
